I can confirm that iOS 10.0.2 (14A456) does not support client machines (Mac or Win) connecting to the host device's (iPhone 6) mobile hotspot and establishing a PPTP tunnel. All in all, it makes sense that removing the support of the PPTP protocol would disallow this type of activity. The phone cant route or pass that protocol in any form.
